What Sets Waymarks Apart

Hey, there!

I’m Jacquelyn Van Sant, the founder of Waymarks Web Studio and a story-drive marketing strategist.

I help mission-driven businesses, personal brands, and small teams turn their hard-earned results into clear, compelling content that actually works: case studies that win over clients, websites that sound human and convert, and blog-like content that builds trust over time.

I didn’t arrive here by accident. Over the last fifteen years, I’ve worn just about every digital hat possible: web designer, developer, content manager, project manager, onboarding specialist, technical consultant for big SaaS migrations.

That mix means I don’t just write “nice words.” I understand how your website functions, how teams juggle projects, and what it really takes to move a lead from curious to committed.

Waymarks exists because I believe mission-drive businesses deserve more than cookie-cutter content. You deserve strategy that’s ground in story, shaped by empathy, and aligned with real business goals.

If you’re ready to share your wins in a way that attracts the right clients while building long-term momentum, you’re in the right place.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does a marketing strategist do?

In short: I help you market smarter with strategy rooted in story and supported by results.

So a marketing strategist looks at the big picture. I connect the dots between your brand, your audience, and your goals — then create a roadmap for content and messaging that actually works.

In practice, that means I help you uncover the stories, wins, and expertise that set you apart, and then shape them into marketing case studies, website copy, and content that attract the right people, nurture real connections, and convert into paying clients.

I bring fifteen years of experience across web design, development, content management, project management, and onboarding to the table, so I don’t just “write.” I dive in to understand how your website functions, how clients move through your sales journey, and what it takes to turn curiosity into trust.

How do I know that marketing strategist is a good investment?

Think of your website as your digital storefront. A marketing strategist makes sure the shop isn’t just “open,” but designed to guide visitors toward becoming clients. That means clear messaging, blogs or content resources that answer the right questions, and success stories that build trust.

Without strategy, you might be paying for ads or socials that get eyes on your site, but you’re losing them almost immediately. With strategy, your website becomes a marketing asset that attracts, engages, and converts your best-fit clients.

What information do you need from my to start my project?

Don’t know where to start? I offer 90-minute Strategy Sessions that can help you get the clarity you need. We’ll dive into your current challenges; figure out your target audience; brainstorm a content strategy that’ll work for you, and lay out an action plan to help you succeed.

If you do know what you need, fill out this simple form with the details, like:

  • Which of my services you’re interested in
  • The budget you’re hoping to say within
  • What’s stressing you out most
  • Any deadlines you have

We’ll figure out what is best for you and your business — that’s the strategy part.

Is hiring a marketing strategist a good idea?

If you’re struggling to get the traffic, leads, or sales you expected, hiring a marketing strategist is a smart move. I’ll help you see the big picture and map out clear, manageable steps towards your goals.

If content feels overwhelming — from publishing blogs to creating case studies — my monthly services bring order to the chaos, turning that “to do” list into a “done” list.

And when you need strong words to back up the strategy, I step in as a copywriter, too. Whether it’s new website copy, a sales page for your latest offer, or a polished email sequence, I make sure your messaging connects with your audience.

You are sure hiring YOU as my strategic partner is a good idea?

Yes.

In the past two years, I’ve helped over 40 clients achieve their marketing, website, and content goals. Before launching Waymarks, I built a career across government, higher education, and the tech/SaaS industry, working in web development, design, content management, client onboarding, and project management.

I get it. I understand how websites and content function in the real world, working together to attract the right audience and close more deals.

I’ve had the privilege of managing projects, migrations, and website/content needs for organizations like:
– American Film Institute
– Arizona State University
– Best Friends Animal Sanctuary
– Brown University
– Monotype
– New York Public Library
– Tag1 Consulting
– TransPerfect
– World Bank

Every role has sharpened my expertise in strategy, storytelling, and execution. When you hire me, you’re not just getting a strategist — you’re getting a partner who knows how to turn ideas into results.

What are some services you DON’T offer?

To save us some time, I’ll list out a few of the services I don’t currently offer:

  • Social media management. I do write social posts for clients (as an add-on service), but I do not manage their social media channels. That is a full time job on its own, and I prefer to focus on website strategy, site improvements, and writing content like blogs and case studies.
  • Branding and logo design. I’m not a professional brand strategist or logo designer. I do have a growing network of professionals I can refer you to.
How much do your services cost?

Transparency is important to me, which is why I choose to publicly list the starting price for each of my services. These are the minimums and many clients choose add-ons available or customizations to best fit their goals.

Most of my clients are growing businesses with budgets to invest in digital marketing that actually drives results. That said, I also offer smaller packages for businesses just starting out. I ask for your budget range in my intake form, so I can recommend the solution that fits your needs and resources, and I’ll always be honest if a particular goal is outside your range.

Do you offer copyediting or editing services?

I do! I provide editing services for articles and blogs written by subject matter experts in the tech/SaaS industry, proofreading and editing for ebooks, and website editing for fellow professionals and small businesses.

I’d love to help you polish up your blogs, case studies, websites, or lead magnets.

Do you offer ghostwriting services?

Most of what I do falls into the “ghostwriting” category, even though I don’t often use that term myself.

Yes, I’ve written blogs and case studies under ghostwriting agreements for agencies in the Tech/SaaS and cybersecurity industries. I’ve written lifestyle and featured articles for communities and magazines without bylines. I even spent a year writing under a white label agreement for a renown veteran copywriter, and thoroughly enjoyed the mentorship and experience it provided.

If you want to present yourself as an authority in your field without having to do the hard work of writing everything yourself, reach out. I’ll help you shine… and I don’t need a byline.

What services do you offer?

To keep it simple, I specialize in:

  • Strategy consultations
  • Blogs, articles, how to guides, FAQs, and other content (short and long form)
  • Marketing case studies (aka success stories)
  • Sales or landing page copy and messaging
  • Website rewrites (in part or in full)
  • Emails and email sequences
  • Full website redesign
  • New website builds

If you have a content or website-related need on here that isn’t listed, reach out! I’d love to know more.

What other type of writing projects do you do?

I have also assisted with:

  • Content audit with gap analysis
  • Website audit
  • SEO audit
  • Writing eBooks

If you have a writing need on here that isn’t listed, reach out! I’d love to know more.

When the project is done, is the work mine or yours?

No matter if its marketing strategy, website-specific, or written content, all project deliverables are yours to do with as you please. I’m providing a service for you, so you’ll be the owner of the work I’ve created.

I do ask to use my favorite pieces in either my public portfolio or private sample collection.

Depending on your project, I may even ask permission to feature you in a case study for my Client Wins.

I’m interested… what’s it like to work with you?

Here at Waymarks, I have a fairly standardized process for my projects.

First, you’ll tell me about your project using this simple form. I’ll review the initial details get back to you within 2 business days. I may ask few extra questions via email to understand your needs.

If it’s a good fit, we’ll hop on a 30-minute call to go over your needs and goals more deeply  (or discover them if you don’t know) and how my services can help.

I’ll send over a proposal and contract. If you’re satisfied, sign the dotted line and pay the deposit invoice to secure your place in my calendar.

Then it’s onboarding time! We’ll set the project start date, schedule the kickoff call, and (depending on your project) you’ll get a tiny bit of homework.

If we’re working on a single project, we’ll have a regular check-in to keep everything moving forward. You’ll be able to review and approve the work at key milestones, and we’ll even have a nice handoff when the project is completed.

If you’ve decided on a monthly package, we’ll have a simple cycle for the duration of your contract: monthly invoices are due on the 1st, we’ll touch base via email or Zoom call, work will be done and sent to you for review, revision, and approval, and we’ll wrap up with a quick overview of everything accomplished.

I’m available to my clients Monday—Friday during my working hours to answer questions, clarify points, or brainstorm.

Can I hire you on retainer?

Yes, you can! I’m excited to meet you and learn more. Quickly… fill out this form to get started.

I want to work with you. What’s the next step?

Awesome! To get started, simply tell me about your project.

And because you waded through all of these FAQs (I’m very impressed!), I’m going to give you a “cheat code” to skip ahead of the line. You’ve earned the ability to jump right to booking a call with me.

Need a web content strategist and copywriter to refresh and optimize your website?

I’d love to work with you.
